The performance will take place at the Okcheojae, a space where King Gojong used as a study room called Jeongak, meaning 'collecting precious treasures like jade.' Built in 1891, it was used by King Gojong as a study room and office where he received foreign envoys.

The royal court music of Joseon, Sujecheon (壽齊天), will once again be performed in harmony with Western court dance, ballet, in front of Jibokjae at Gyeongbokgung Palace. The sight of ballerinas soaring gracefully over the melodies of court musicians in red robes will create an unforgettable autumn night at the palace.

1. Program Introduction

 ○ Act One: Ballet Jeongjae (Classical Ballet)

   - Jeongjae refers to traditional Korean court dance. This act presents Sujecheon, known as the “melody of heaven,” combined with classical ballet, offering a new 21st-century interpretation of court dance called Ballet Jeongjae.

 ○ Act Two: Ballet Fantasy (Romantic Ballet)

   - The world of fantasy in romantic ballet is reimagined through a fusion with traditional Korean music. As the melody of Taepyeongga flows in a Korean ensemble, the dance of fairies from Bugaksan responds in harmony, followed by a powerful performance of pansori. The stage then comes alive with a playful goblin dance paired with the enchanting gayageum masterpiece Chimhyangmu.

 ○ Act Three: Ballebinari (Contemporary Ballet)

   - The performance of Suryongeum bridges the transition from the fantasy world to the grand finale. The vibrant rhythms of samulnori combine with the dynamic energy of young dancers in contemporary ballet, creating a powerful synergy that delivers binari—a traditional song of blessing and gratitude—to the audience.
