This route offers a glimpse into the prehistoric world, home to numerous cultural heritage sites. Yeoncheon, where the world’s first "Acheulean hand axe" was discovered in East Asia, is a significant site for global Paleolithic research. The Hantangang and Imjingang Rivers feature beautiful geological formations, such as columnar joints, eroded caves, and waterfalls, created by volcanic activity. The Hantangang Global Geopark, designated by UNESCO, preserves these natural wonders, offering insight into the Earth's ancient history.
