The Gate Guard Patrol Ceremony is a traditional cultural performance that recreates the sunragun, patrol guards of the Joseon Dynasty 

who inspected the royal palaces and the capital to help prevent crime and fires.The ceremony reenacts soldiers from the reign of King Jeongjo in the 18th century. 

Visitors can walk around Jongmyo Shrine alongside the marching patrol guards and experience a vivid recreation of a Joseon-era patrol.
